SERVER SYSTEMS · HOURLY COMMUNITY RATE
Chaos Hour
Players contribute IP to a shared pool. Every hour, Blackv4 rolls a Chaos Base, adds the effective community contribution, and applies the resulting rate to server bonuses.
Item #4310505
Contribution and hourly cycle
- Use @chaosdonate to open the donation NPC, choose an amount, and confirm. The command does not take an amount argument directly.
- Each accepted IP is removed from the character and added to one server-wide pool for the next roll. The pool has room for 100 items; any amount beyond the remaining capacity is not consumed.
- The scheduled roll applies once per hour. The schedule and pool survive a server restart; if a scheduled time passed while offline, the server catches up during startup.
- After the roll, the pool is consumed and reset to zero for the next cycle. The new Chaos Rate remains active until the next roll.
A short per-character cooldown prevents rapid repeat donations. The contribution is global, not character-specific.
Current source formula
pool = clamp(total donated IP, 0, 100)
effectiveIP = min(pool, 50)
excessIP = max(pool - 50, 0)
minimumBase = min(max(antiLowRollFloor, excessIP), 50)
base = weighted roll(minimumBase..50), when pool <= 50
base = uniform roll(minimumBase..50), when pool > 50
rate = min(base + effectiveIP, 100)
if rate < 50 and a 10% Surge roll succeeds:
rate = 50
The normal weighted roll favors low Base tiers. Pools above 50 use a uniform roll from the excess-IP floor up to x50; donated IP still contributes a guaranteed +x50.
| Pool | Effective IP | Excess IP | Base range* | Rate before Surge* |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | +x25 | 0 | x1-x50 | x26-x75 |
| 50 | +x50 | 0 | x1-x50 | x51-x100 |
| 75 | +x50 | 25 | x25-x50 | x75-x100 |
| 100 | +x50 | 50 | x50 | x100 |
*Assumes Anti-Low-Roll is at its initial x1 floor. The pool-50 Base is weighted; pools above 50 use a uniform roll.
Chaos Base weights
| Slice of available Base range | Weight |
|---|---|
| Lowest 20% | 50% |
| Next 20% | 25% |
| Next 20% | 15% |
| Next 20% | 7% |
| Highest 20% | 3% |
The tier boundaries scale with the remaining range. If a narrow range collapses a tier, its weight is redistributed among tiers that still contain values.
Protection and effects
- Anti-Low-Roll: each Base result below x40 raises the minimum for the next hour. A Base result from x40 to x50 resets the next minimum to x1.
- Chaos Surge: each roll below x50 has a 10% chance to be raised to x50.
- Boss Stat bonuses: use the full active Chaos Rate.
- Player damage: the Chaos contribution is capped separately at x10 by default, so a high Boss Stat rate does not multiply personal damage by the same amount.
- Players receive an in-game announcement. Discord receives contribution and roll announcements plus a status update every five minutes.
| Current minimum Base | Outcome for the next hour |
|---|---|
| x1 | If Base is below x40: next minimum x11 |
| x11 | If Base is below x40: next minimum x21 |
| x21 | If Base is below x40: next minimum x31 |
| x31 | If Base is below x40: next minimum x40 |
| x40 | Base rolls x40-x50; next minimum resets to x1 |
The IP pool can raise this minimum too: above 50 IP, every excess IP adds one to the Base floor, up to x50. The active minimum is the higher of that excess and the Anti-Low-Roll floor.
